We are happy to announce that Modernist Cuisine has begun shipping to customers well ahead of its announced release date of March 14. The book is available for order from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kitchen Arts & Letters, and other booksellers, who will send the first copies to those who preordered. Because of the unexpectedly high volume of preorders, stocks of the book will be very limited for a while. New shipments are on their way from the press and will arrive in March and April.

I understand the shortage but I noticed on my Amazon account on Sunday, March 6th that I was going to get my copy today, March 9th. I ordered December 19, 2010. But this morning I got an email from Amazon saying I wasn’t going to get it until April 18th.
I’m so depressed I am heading down to Safeway (I live in Silicon Valley) to get a box of frozen White Castle sliders...boo hoo.

Eliane:
If you preordered in September from Amazon, then your book should be on its way to you shortly. Amazon says they are shipping to customers in the same order that customers put in their requests. Fortunately, you were one of the early ones!
Thanks for your patience.

it’s really a mess ... i don’t think at that price is our problem to think about how many copies you print etc etc ... i really hope that the content of the book doesn’t reflect that lack of professionalism, you start this thread with this comment
“We are happy to announce that Modernist Cuisine has begun ship ping to cus tomers well ahead of its announced release date of March 14″
i don’t really think we should watch all this market business, we are not here to make you the most you can ................... we just wait for a book about modern cuisine ... the real cuisine, not this one
