Cooking with Modernist Cuisine
So you’ve received your copy of Modernist Cuisine and are itching to get started on some of the recipes and techniques? We’re here to help. If you’re not sure where to begin, check out our guide to Getting Started with the Recipes. Then dive in to our Recipe Library, where we will periodically post new recipes from the book, along with tips and photos from the Modernist Cuisine culinary team. Sign up as a registered user, and we’ll send each recipe post to your inbox even before it goes online.
Thinking about picking up some new tools or ingredients? Have a look at our Modernist Gear Guide. We suggest ways to get the most bang for your buck and where to procure many of the less common foods that some of our recipes call for.
Surveying the contents of your refrigerator and wondering what recipes in MC might fit the bill? Take advantage of our handy Recipe Finder. This is also a great way to find recipes that exercise that newly acquired tool or technique. We also have a new index to the Kitchen Manual that is exclusively available online. And if those resources don’t lead you to what you’re looking for, try the keyword search feature, which can locate a word or phrase anywhere in the full text of the book.
If you get stuck, things don’t turn out the way you expect, or you invent a neat recipe or technique of your own, use the Cooks Forum to post a question or share tips and solutions with other readers. The research cooks at The Cooking Lab are here to help, and will check in regularly.
Remember to snap photos of any culinary creations you make from the book, because we’re in the process of building a Reader Gallery to which you will be able to upload your images.
Welcome to the wonderful new world of Modernist cooking. Have fun, and good eating!
