This Just In: Modernist Cuisine is fully in stock!

MCAugust 23, 2011

Five months and eight days after its release, Modernist Cuisine is fully in stock at Barnes & Noble and Amazon (as well as a growing number of independent bookstores and libraries–find one near you with our store locator).

Back orders, the bulk of the reason booksellers have been out of stock so long, have finally been fulfilled. We are still sending more and more copies from the printer in China each week, and we anticipate that we will continue seeing stores fully stocked through the holidays.

Both Amazon.com and barnesandnoble.com are currently selling the book for less than $500. For the last several weeks, both retailers had listed it at the full price of $625. Many independent bookstores that have the book in stock are selling in the $525 price range.

  1. Sadly, not all amazons are created equal. My amazon.ca order from March (a reorder after the folks at amazon.ca accidentally killed my first order when the first printing ran out) still hasn’t shipped. Does the full stock status at amazon.com and b&n mean any increase in number of books headed up here?

I placed an order in late July via amazon.ca and was given a late October estimated delivery date. Today, I just ordered from amazon.com and cancelled my amazon.ca order.

Ordering via amazon.com actually slightly cheaper than amazon.ca, even with taxes, shipping and exchange rates taken into account. There’s no duties on books when shipping to Canada.

          • Good call Billy_Chan. Hesitated a bit but switched to amazon.com on Thursday morning. They said it would be here Monday but it was waiting for me this afternoon when I got home from work.

Bravo Nathan, Chris, Max, Ryan, Wayt and the rest of the team! Even though I’ve got the books right in front of me now, I still cannot believe what you have accomplished.
