Laser-etching Jimmy Kimmel’s Face onto an Omelet

As seen on Jimmy Kimmel Live! For Nathan’s appearance on the show, we thought it might be fun to make Jimmy a one-of-a-kind omelet. We made up a batch of our combi oven omelet base and cooked it to a perfect 179˚F. Once it cooled, we etched it with our laser cutter from the machine shop to burn an image of Jimmy Kimmel’s face onto the top.

The actual laser process took about 10 minutes—this video shows the action in 20x speed.
